House of Contrasts

In the Contrasting House project, clean architecture meets technical precision. The family house, located in a newly built residential area, is built on contrasting materials. Large-format glazing, raw concrete, and warm natural wood together create a space that feels open and intimate, modern and timeless, all at once.

The beauty of architecture often arises from the combination of contrasts. In the House of Contrasts, massive concrete meets the warmth of natural wood and large-format glazing. The timber-aluminium windows used are the result of precise manufacturing, where every detail is designed with emphasis on stability, precise installation, and long-term durability. This project demonstrates that the contrast of materials can create a harmonious and functional whole.

The concrete structure forms the basis of the building, defining the rhythm of the entire space. The interior faces the garden, where the facade seamlessly transforms into a fully glazed wall. This provides an unobstructed view, lets in natural light, and creates a harmonious connection between the interior and exterior. Natural wood in the interior softens the austerity of the concrete and brings warmth and coziness to the space. Another prominent feature is the wood-aluminum MINTAL windows, which play an important role not only in terms of aesthetics but also in the technical solution of the entire building. Extensive glazed areas require exceptional precision and strength. A combined frame system was used, where the inner wooden profile ensures stability and excellent mechanical properties, while the outer aluminum protects against adverse weather conditions and UV radiation. This combination allows for the implementation of large-format solutions without the need for additional reinforcements, while maintaining long-term dimensional stability, minimal maintenance requirements, and high durability.

The overall impression of the project proves that modern architecture can approach materials and the surrounding space with respect. MINTAL windows here not only fulfil a technical function but become an integral part of the architecture. They define the character of the house, create a peaceful visual framework, and connect the interior with the outside world. Thus, they support the atmosphere of purity, openness, and comfort that is characteristic of this house.
