From Honest Craftsmanship to Cutting-Edge Technology
MINTAL is a Slovak manufacturer of wood-aluminum windows and doors with a tradition dating back to 1988. From the beginning, we have built on technical thinking, honest craftsmanship, and responsibility for a result that is meant to last for decades, not just at the time of handover.
We do not manufacture windows as a standalone product. We design comprehensive system solutions, where production, technology, installation, and service are interconnected and make sense as a single entity. This is precisely the difference between delivering windows and a solution you can rely on long-term.
You don't build trust with words, but with how you work every day. Strong values, honest work, and results that satisfy customers are proof to us that it all makes sense, and at the same time, the greatest reward and motivation.
— Roman Vajs, Company Managing Director

1988
Roots, courage, and the first freelancing gig
When freelancing alongside employment was first permitted in Czechoslovakia, Jozef Mintál decided to seize the opportunity and establish a carpentry business. As a trained furniture maker, he primarily focused on furniture production. His first project was the interior of the Kúria winery in Banská Bystrica, which marked his first entrepreneurial step.
He reinvested the money earned into tools, gradually building a workshop and forging his first collaborations. Windows came later, but the MINTAL brand grew from the very beginning out of honest craftsmanship and the courage to start in challenging times.

1989
First Steps and Historical Windows
Jozef Mintál joined forces with František Mesík from Selce and started producing in a small workshop. Gradually, the first larger orders emerged, including the complete interior of Slovenská sporiteľňa on the square in Banská Bystrica.
A strong moment of this period was the production and installation of oak stairs in the Leaning Tower in Banská Bystrica. The technically demanding realization, which is still in use today, became proof of craftsmanship, precision, and the courage to take on challenges.

1993
Starting the MINTAL brand from scratch
After a failed business partnership in Zvolen, Jozef Mintál decided to practically start from scratch. He was left with a small workshop, basic machinery, and a new team.
It was during this period that he first encountered the production of euro windows more intensely, which later proved to be a key moment for the future direction of the company.

1996
Turning Point: Zvolen District Court
When working on a contract for the District Court in Zvolen, the company's management faced a fundamental decision. External frame milling was so expensive that Jozef Mintál realized that for the same money, he could buy his own machine.
He therefore decided to invest in the first dedicated bottom milling machine for window production, and they completed the contract in-house. This step marked the definitive entry into window production, and the company began to establish itself as a window manufacturer.

2000
Expansion and Professionalization in Sliač
It was no longer possible to manage the growth in production under the original conditions. In April 2000, the company moved to larger premises in Sliač, where it had approximately 500 m² divided into two production halls at its disposal.
For the first time, there was a real opportunity to separate individual production phases and elevate the organization of work to a higher level. This was an important step from a small workshop to systematic production and further professional growth of the company.

2005
Own business and a test of character
After years of working in rented premises, a strategic decision was made to build their own production complex. Construction began in April 2005, and by September, the company had moved into its new premises in Sielnica.
Production was designed systematically for the first time, with a separate paint shop, assembly, ventilation, and logistics. 2005 marked the transition to a stable manufacturer with its own facilities and a clear vision for further long-term development.

2008
Digitization and the advent of CNC technologies
In 2008, we significantly advanced production by investing in the first five-axis CNC machines from one of Europe's largest machine manufacturers, SCM Group.
Automation brought us higher precision, stable quality, and faster production. This created a technological foundation that put us ahead of most of our competitors.

2013
Financial stability and the production program for timber-aluminum windows
In 2013, MINTAL launched its timber-aluminium window production program, which gradually became the main pillar of its production. This step significantly strengthened the company's profile as a premium Slovak manufacturer, with an emphasis on quality, technology, and precise workmanship.
The launch of the program was made possible by the financial stability achieved after challenging investment years and the repayment of loans, which opened up space for long-term development and investment in production for the company.

2016
New production phase
The year 2016 brought another important step in the development of MINTAL. The construction of a new production and assembly hall expanded the production facilities and created conditions for the further growth of the company.
Increased capacity allowed for more efficient production processes, better organization of assembly, and readiness for the growing demand for MINTAL timber-aluminum windows.

2022
Technological lead and robotization
Following the expansion of its production facilities, the company once again invested significantly in technological innovations. It introduced a robotic line for window surface treatment, which brought higher precision, efficiency, and repeatability in painting, while also reducing material waste.
Thus, 2022 marked another technological advancement for MINTAL and reaffirmed its emphasis on modern manufacturing technologies.

2024
New showroom in Sielnica
In 2024, we opened a modern MINTAL showroom in Sielnica, which opened the doors of production to customers. Visitors can not only see but also truly experience wood-aluminum windows. The space combines design, technology, and transparency and showcases current trends, premium materials, and processing details.
The visit also includes the opportunity to walk through the production process and observe it from wood processing to the final product. The idea is simple: trust is built when the customer sees how things are made.

2025
Second showroom in Berg
The growing interest in MINTAL wood-aluminum windows from various parts of Slovakia naturally brought about the need to be closer to clients from the western region as well. That is why we opened a consultation center in Berg, near Bratislava.
It is a place where you can view our solutions, compare materials and processing details, and consult with our team when choosing the ideal solution for your project.

2026
New Product MINTAL ZEN
At the beginning of 2026, MINTAL introduced the new ZEN, which the team had been intensively working on throughout 2025. The development was preceded by months of design, technical development, and testing, which responded to the need for more light, space, and cleaner architecture.
Inspired by Zen philosophy and Japandi aesthetics, an ultra-slim timber-aluminium window frame was created without compromising on quality and stability. MINTAL ZEN represents a milestone where technical precision meets modern living.

2026+
Continuity and sustainable growth
Today, MINTAL is a stable company that has grown from craftsmanship, hard work, and perseverance. What started as a small workshop gradually became a production facility, but one thing has not changed.
An emphasis on quality and an honest approach. In the future, we want to remain steadfast in quality and continue to grow naturally, just as we have done from the beginning.
